The Commerce Department issued notices in the Federal Register on its recently initiated antidumping duty investigations on monomers and oligomers from Korea and Taiwan, as well as its countervailing duty investigation on monomers and oligomers from Taiwan. The AD/CVD investigations cover entries for calendar year 2024.

CBP released a notice on the end of de minimis eligibility for products from China and Hong Kong beginning May 2, as outlined in an executive order issued earlier this month. The notice describes the new system of tariffs on carriers for postal shipments that will take effect on that date, as well as changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule to implement the changes.
CBP published more details of how it will collect duties or fees on imported packages worth less than $800 with Chinese goods in the public inspection pages of the Federal Register on April 24.
CBP is accepting comments through June 23 on a request by a domestic party to reclassify certain cane sugar molasses and liquid sugar from Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheading 1703.10.30 to subheading 1702.90.10 or subheading 1702.90.20.
CBP created Harmonized System Update 2516 on April 18, containing 65 Automated Broker Interface records and 21 Harmonized Tariff Schedule records. HSU 2516 includes the Safeguard for Sugar adjustments and PGA updates. In support of the PGA updates, an FDA tariff flag was added to HTS 2702.10.0000 Lignite, whether or not pulverized, but not agglomerated.
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is planning a phased-in approach to assessing fees on foreign-built vessels calling at U.S. ports, according to an April 17 announcement unveiling the results of its year-long Section 301 investigation.

Commerce now will decide whether to begin AD/CVD investigations, which could result in the imposition of permanent AD/CVD orders and the assessment of AD and CVD on importers. The Manitowoc Company requested the investigation.
