Section 301 tariff exclusions

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has established an exclusion process for Section 301 tariffs on China. In a series of rounds since the tariffs took effect, importers have been able to request exclusions from the tariffs, as well as extensions to existing exclusions. Many exclusions have been allowed to expire, as well. Section 301 exclusions are applicable to all importers of a given good, which may be defined as an entire tariff schedule subheading or a subset of a subheading outlined in a written description.

Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "forced labor").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD CBP).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Canada Preparing New Tariffs 'Pending Developments' in US Trade Talks

Canada is preparing new and revised tariffs, along with a tariff quota, to address what it said is the Trump administration’s “unfair trade” measures in the steel and aluminum sectors. The new tariffs and other measures will be in place as Canada negotiates a new “economic and security partnership” with the U.S., the country’s Department of Finance announced June 19.

CBP's June 18 Customs Bulletin Has 2 Ruling Notices

CBP has released its June 18 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 59, No. 25). It contains one proposed ruling action related to the tariff classification of certain neck, face, head and arm coverings, and another one related to the tariff classification of aluminum locking brackets from China It also includes one U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit opinion.
