CBP has made available for testing in the ACE certification environment the enhancement for Automated Rejection of Insufficient Cargo Description, Shipper Name, and Consignee Name. The deployment takes place Aug. 25, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT., it said in an Aug. 25 cargo systems message.
The next quarterly meeting of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee will be on Sept. 17 in Washington, D.C., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT, according to a Federal Register notice. Sidley trade practice co-lead Ted Muprhy advised clients to prepare now for a potential court ruling overturning International Emergency Economic Powers Act tariffs by downloading import reports from ACE to demonstrate how much they have paid in IEEPA tariffs since they began. He also said they should do so each month from now on, until there is a final resolution in court.
