Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Bipartisan Letter Asks for Details on Forced Labor Enforcement in Seafood

The top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee, joined by a Republican and two other Democrats, is asking CBP to provide decision memoranda, emails, situation summaries, discussion and evaluation documents and briefing documents on how the agency is identifying seafood imports that were harvested by illegal fishing or processed with forced labor, including how ACE is collecting data.

CBP Seeks Comments on Information Collection Involving Test Program for North American Pipeline Network

CBP is seeking comments through Nov. 4 on an information collection related to a test program that's part of a tech platform used for the North American pipeline network. The test program will gauge the usefulness and accuracy of the platform's interoperability standards, it said in a Federal Register notice. Trade members have noted previously that the test program on pipeline imports may be relevant for imports as CBP fine-tunes its development of the ACE platform (see 2304270036). CBP will summarize the comments it receives and then submit them to the Office of Management and Budget for review.

AMS to Adhere to Sept. 19 Implementation Deadline for Organic Products

USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service is unlikely to extend once more the deadline for filing certificates in ACE on all entries of organic products, an official of the program said Aug. 29 during a webinar on the AMS’ national organic program, hosted by the Los Angeles Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders Association.
