Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted term, include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Targets $306 Million Worth of Shipments for Suspected Forced Labor in February

CBP in February identified 540 shipments valued at more than $306 million for further examination based on the suspected use of forced labor, including goods subject to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and withhold release orders, the agency said in its most recent operational statistics update. The number and value of those shipments is up from January, when CBP identified 424 shipments worth more than $236 million (see 2402130070). Also in February, CBP seized 1,645 shipments that contained counterfeit goods valued at more than $345 million if the items had been genuine, the agency said.

CBP to Start Automated Enforcement for Entry Type 86 Filings in April

CBP will update ACE April 13 to enforce a shorter time frame requirement for filing type 86 entries, the agency said in a March 21 CSMS message. This announcement follows a Jan. 16 Federal Register notice that, among other changes, shortened the deadline for filing type 86 entries from 15 days after arrival -- the same as the deadline for formal entries -- to “upon or prior to arrival” of the shipment (see 2401120070).
