CBP has posted an updated version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) - an electronic query report for CF 1400 of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP has also posted an updated CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) - an electronic query report for CF 1401 of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.
CBP has posted an updated version of its Public Automated Commercial System FIRMS (Facilities Information and Resources Management Systems) report that is organized by port code and alphabetically by company name.
The World Customs Organization has posted a list of the decisions concerning amendments to the Harmonized System Compendium of Classification Opinions taken by the Harmonized System Committee (HSC) at its 47th Session in March 2011. Decisions were taken on bakery additives, neutral alcoholic bases, laminated panels, wireless headsets, color monitors, electronic cigarettes, and network analyzers.
On August 18, 2011, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that a collection of 67 artifacts illegally imported into the U.S. were returned to the Dominican Republic as a result of a series of seizures and several investigations conducted by ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The individual to whom the artifacts were destined was the subject of an INTERPOL arrest warrant for theft of protected antiquities in Mexico. A curator determined that some of artifacts seized date from the periods of Chicoid A.D. 1200 to 1500; Archaic or later 2000 B.C. to A.D. 1200; or Ostionoid A.D. 1000 to 1500.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is announcing an additional 30 day comment period for the proposed extension of its existing Petition for Remission or Mitigation of Forfeitures and Penalties Incurred (CBP Form 4609) information collection, which it plans to submit to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval.
