Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "forced labor").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD CBP).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., tariffs +Canada).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., FDA -alert).

'Significant Number' of FDA Facility Registrations not Renewed, says CBP

A significant number of Food and Drug Administration food facility registrations that were not renewed by Jan. 31 are currently in the process of being modified to an invalid status by FDA, said CBP in a CSMS message. As a result, imported food shipments manufactured by those facilities without valid registrations may be held at the port or refused upon arrival in the U.S., it said.

CBP Releases List of 13th Term COAC Members

CBP recently informed members of the Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (COAC) of makeup of the group. The COAC has its first meeting of the term, which lasts from 2013 to 2015, on March 6. The 13th term COAC members are:

CBP to Revise Boundaries of Green Bay, Wis., Port

CBP is amending its regulations expanding and revising the geographical limits of the port of Green Bay, Wis., said CBP in a Feb. 28 notice on the final rule. The amended regulations change the port boundaries to refer to identifiable roadways and waterways rather than townships and to include the entire Austin Straubel Airport. CBP said it didn't receive any comments on the proposed changes. The final rule will be effective April 30.

CBP Issues CF 1400, CF 1401 Reports for Feb. 25

CBP posted a Feb. 25 version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) electronic query report of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP also posted a version of its CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) electronic query report of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.
