Bill Ordering Reciprocal Tariff Refunds for Small Businesses Introduced

Sen. Edward Markey, D-Mass., Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and eight other Democrats introduced a bill to require that small businesses receive refunds of the reciprocal tariffs within 90 days.

“While the courts continue to battle over the legality of Trump’s ‘liberation day’ tariffs, small businesses cannot wait and never should have been part of this terrible policy,” Small Business Committee ranking member Markey said. “My Small Business RELIEF Act would not only exempt small businesses from the reckless, wide-sweeping reciprocal and global baseline tariffs, but importantly will also require the President to give refunds to small businesses who have paid these tariffs within 90 days of enactment.”
