Ahead of the meeting, the EU leader said it is important to talk about their intertwined economies, "now we've exchanged papers."

On Linkedin, after the meeting, von der Leyen posted, "I was glad to meet with Vice President Vance again. Very grateful to [Prime Minister] Giorgia Meloni for hosting this important meeting. It was needed. And it was good. Indeed, we found a lot of common ground, which is natural for strong partners like us.
