PHMSA to Hold Public Meetings Ahead of Discussions on Dangerous Goods Requirements
The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration will hold three hearings in the coming months ahead of upcoming meetings of international bodies to discuss dangerous goods requirements, it said in a notice April 24.

Public meetings will be held before the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods meets June 23 – July 3 and Nov. 25 – Dec. 3 to “consider proposals for the 24th Revised Edition” of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods: Model Regulations, which may be implemented starting Jan. 1, 2027.
A public meeting also will be held before the meeting scheduled for October of the International Civil Aviation Organization's Dangerous Goods Panel Working Group 24, which will discuss proposals for the 2027-2028 edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
In each case, the PHMSA public meeting will take place about two weeks before the international meeting. Details will be posted to the PHMSA website, the agency said.
