Reorganization of Customs Chapter in US Code Put on Hold

The revision of the Customs chapter in U.S. Code Title 19, originally scheduled for next spring, will be delayed, the Office of the Law Revision Counsel said Oct. 19.

“The Office of the Law Revision Counsel has received feedback from a number of different sources and is still awaiting feedback from others that have indicated concern,” it said, and that feedback was that there could be “undue difficulty” in administering the changes. Both the timing of the reorganization and the reorganization plan structure (see 2007240022), which was planned to shift from chronological to subject-matter headings, are now on hold.
