Snowstorm Slows Container Processing in New York Area
All container terminals in the Port of New York/New Jersey were closed to truck traffic on Jan. 22 as a result of a snowstorm that hit the East Coast, the Port Authority said in an advisory. CBP officers at the Port of New York/New Jersey were on duty despite the storm and "prepared and ready to process cargo as it arrived into the port," said a CBP spokesman.

A spokesman for CBP's mid-Atlantic operations said the agency "maintained adequate staffing during the storm we remain fully staffed today." A CBP spokeswoman for New England did not return a request for comment.
