U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued its weekly tariff rate quota (TRQ) commodity report as of August 28, 2006. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, tuna, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa powder, tobacco, certain BFTA, CAFTA-DR, JFTA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, CAFTA-DR, CBTPA, MFTA, NAFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA (Chile FTA) tariff preference levels (TPLs) and TRQs for qualifying apparel and/or other textile articles, the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc. (CBP's weekly TRQ/TPL commodity report, dated 08/28/06, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/import/textiles_and_quotas/commodity/)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted to its Web site a press release announcing that its three-day Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Exchange Conference addressing ACE's modernized, secure trade processing that took place in Chicago, Illinois on August 15-17, 2006 has concluded. CBP has also posted to its Web site 27 PowerPoint presentations that were presented during the conference.
An August 2006 version of the "Trade User's Guide for ACE-ESAR Release A2" has been released. This pamphlet was prepared by two members of the trade community to help current ABI/ACS customs brokers, self-filers, and their automation vendors focus on significant changes they might experience as ACE ESAR (Entry Summary, Accounts, Revenue) is rolled out.
