Laura Murphy Joining DHS on Forced Labor
Laura Murphy, director of the forced labor lab at Sheffield Hallam University that identified many of the goods now targeted under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, has joined DHS as a policy adviser to Robert Silvers, undersecretary for strategy, policy and plans.

"I look forward to continuing to work with many of you in my new role. Part of my role will be to liaise with various stakeholders who are invested in stopping forced-labor-made goods from entering into the United States (and circulating globally)," she wrote on LinkedIn.
Murphy said the forced labor lab will continue its work on forced labor in Xinjiang. "All of the team's projects are progressing full steam ahead, and I am certain many of you will be interested in the Lab's forthcoming reports," she said.
