ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Cotton Baling Wrap
The International Trade Commission is launching a Section 337 investigation into imports of wrapping material for agricultural applications (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1210) that allegedly infringe patents held by Tama, the ITC said in an Aug. 6 news release. In its underlying complaint, Tama said Zhejiang Yajia Cotton and Hai’an Xin Fu Yuan, both of China, are manufacturing wrapping material that copies its patented TamaWrap, which is used for baling cotton. The complaint said the infringing wrapping material is distributed in the U.S. by Southern Marketing Affiliates and Gosun Business Development. The ITC will consider whether to issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning importation and sale of infringing merchandise by the following respondents to the investigation:
