This weekly summary report highlights the most active textile and apparel tariff preference levels1 from U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s “Quota Weekly Commodity Status Report.” The report also lists the TRQ commodities on CBP’s weekly “TRQ/TPL Threshold to Fill List.”
CBP has posted a fact sheet on import safety, which was established as a Priority Trade Issue (PTI) in order to prevent unsafe products from entering the U.S. commerce. CBP notes that in FY 2010, 64% of its trade exams were done on behalf of other agencies.
CBP has posted a fact sheet on its Commercial Targeting and Analysis Center (CTAC), a facility established in 2009 that serves as a multi-agency fusion center for targeting commercial shipments that pose a threat to health and safety. Agencies participating in CTAC include CBP, CPSC, FDA, FSIS and APHIS.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a memorandum announcing that the 2011 tariff rate quota for chocolate provided for in HTS Chapter 18, Additional U.S. Note 2 will open on January 3, 2011. The aggregate low-duty quantity is 26,167,700 kg with the below-listed countries having the following minimum access amounts:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted a memorandum announcing that the 2011 tariff rate quota on milk (whole) and cream provided for in HTS Chapter 4, subheading 0401.20 will open on January 3, 2011 with a low-duty quantity of 11,356,236 liters.
CBP has issued the November 2010 ACE Trade Account Owner (TAO) Update. CBP has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching their restraint limit or have filled their in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections: those that are at least 85% filled and those that are filled.
