The letter includes a list of regulations and proposals that the Senators urge OMB to consider a priority for review under the President’s recently ordered regulatory review.

Following a meeting with the Colombian Vice President, Senator Brown (D) sent a letter to the U.S. Trade Representative requesting information on how the Obama Administration plans to handle labor rights violations in nations with which the U.S. has a trade agreement. Brown expressed the opinion that before Congress can consider the pending U.S.-Colombia free trade agreement, it must receive assurances from the Administration that it will enforce labor laws in free trade agreements and set a no-tolerance policy when it comes to labor-related threats and violence.
