On February 16, 2011, the Senate continued consideration of S. 223, to modernize the air traffic control system, improve the safety, reliability, and availability of transportation by air in the U.S., and reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration. The Senate is expected to continue its consideration on February 17, 2011.
The Senate Finance Committee has announced that it will hold a hearing on the President’s 2011 trade agenda on March 9, 2011. The sole witness at this hearing will be U.S. Trade Representative Kirk.

The House is expected to resume work on H.R. 1 on February 17, 2011 with consideration of numerous amendments. (The current continuing resolution funds the government through March 4, 2011.)
On February 8, 2011, Senator Lugar (R)1 introduced S. 309, which would allow the President to repeal the Jackson-Vanik trade restrictions on Moldovan products and authorize the extension of permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) treatment to products of Moldova. (Senator Lugar introduced an identical bill in 2009.)

On February 15, 2011, the Senate passed as an amendment in the nature of a substitute H.R. 514, a bill to extend expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005 and Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 relating to access to business records, individual terrorists as agents of foreign powers, and roving wiretaps until December 8, 2011. In addition, the House reported H.Res. 93, providing for consideration of the Senate amendment to H.R. 514.
