Federal Maritime Commission said the following have filed applications for a license as a Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier (NVO) and/or Ocean Freight Forwarder (OFF)-Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) pursuant to section 19 of the Shipping Act of 1984. The Federal Maritime Commission released a notice of the filing of the following agreements under the Shipping Act of 1984. Interested parties may submit comments on the agreement to the Secretary, Federal Maritime Commission, Washington, DC 20573, within 10 days.
Transpacific ocean carriers on inbound trade lanes from the Indian sub-continent, Asia, and Australia to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico implemented a General Rate Increase (GRI) for all North American bound cargo, effective Dec. 1, A.N. Deringer told its clients. Deringer said the increases range from $320 per 20' to $505 per 45' for the West Coast, and from $480 to $760 elsewhere. The increases will be automatically applied to all invoices for cargo received by the ocean carrier after Dec. 1, it said.
