Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "forced labor").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD CBP).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., tariffs +Canada).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., FDA -alert).

Simplest form: Use the simplest form of a term (e.g. "metal" instead of "metals" or "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

The messages are available by searching for the listed CBP message number at addcvd.cbp.gov. (CBP occasionally adds backdated messages without otherwise indicating which message was added. CBP Extends Comment Period on Haiti HOPE Act Info Collection

CBP is extending the comment period by 30 days for an existing information collection related to the Haitian Hemispheric Opportunity through Partnership Encouragement (HOPE) Act of 2006. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with no change to the burden hours.

CBP San Francisco Names Final CES Selection

The CBP San Francisco field office officially selected a Centralized Examination Stations (CES) operator, it said in an information notice. CBP said it has signed a written agreement with Bobac CFS to operate a Anti-Terrorism Contraband Enforcement Team CES facility.

CBP Experiencing ISF Processing Delays

There's been delays in CBP responses to Importer Security Filing (ISF) submissions, the agency said in a CSMS message. The agency is "aware that responses to ISF transmissions are delayed," it said. "While this issue is worked on the trade is advised to transmit normally but do not submit a second filing in order to attempt to force an acceptance. A follow-up message will be sent out once processing is back to normal."

CBP Seeks Comments on Owner and Consignee Declaration Info Collections

CBP requesting comments within 60 days on an existing information collection concerning the Declaration of Owner (CBP Form 3347) and Declaration of Consignee When Entry is Made by an Agent (CBP Form 3347A). CBP says that it is proposing to extend the expiration date of this information collection, without change to the forms or the burden hours.

CBP Issues CF 1400, CF 1401 Reports for Feb. 24

CBP posted a Feb. 24 version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) electronic query report of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP also posted a version of its CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) electronic query report of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.
