The Port of Aqaba in Jordan will use near real-time remote imaging of a container examination process, while incorporating a live video transmission/feed to monitor the inspection, said CBP. Through CSI, CBP officers work with host customs administrations to establish security criteria for identifying high-risk containers through non-intrusive inspections and radiation detection technology before they are shipped to the U.S. There are 58 operational CSI ports around the world and about 80 percent of maritime cargo containers destined for the United States transit through CSI ports, said CBP.
