The Food and Drug Administration, Fish and Wildlife Service, and National Marine Fisheries Service are joining CBP’s import safety Commercial Targeting and Analysis Center (CTAC). CBP finalized agreements with the three agencies on March 15, it said. The addition of FDA, FWS, and the NMFS brings the number of agencies participating in the center up to 11.

CBP and other federal agencies that regulate international trade will attend a trade fair at the Port of Baltimore on April 29, said CBP in a CSMS message. CBP will have representation from the following areas: ABI Client Representatives, Agriculture Specialists, Entry Specialists, Import Specialists, Regulatory Audit, Tactical CBP Officers (Vessel Entry and Clearance, Outbound, Non-Intrusive Inspections), and Trade Enforcement Team CBP Officers (CES and Air Cargo). The event will be at 2001 East McComas Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS) was updated March 31 with 231 rulings, bringing the total number of searchable rulings to 181,450. The most recent ruling is dated 03/28/14.
CBP is now accepting applications for its public/private partnership program that allows for private companies to reimburse the agency for expanded services at certain locations, the agency said March 31. CBP was previously authorized last year to create a reimbursable fee agreement program to increase CBP’s ability to provide services on a reimbursable basis to support growth in cross-border trade and travel (see 13051329). New applications for partnerships will be accepted starting April 1 through April 30, it said (here).

CBP chose OHL to be one of the three customs brokers to test the Automated Commerce Environment (ACE) cargo release pilot program, the company said in an email. CBP recently expanded the ACE Cargo release test, meant to improve the process for releasing cargo into commerce, relaxing security requirements (see 13110115) for participants and opening it up to ocean and rail modes (see 14013112).
CBP posted an updated version of its guidelines for the Centers for Excellence and Expertise. The updated version provides some new information on "Filer Responsibilities" and "Revenue Collection" among other things. CBP recently added new entry types to the CEEs (see 14030714) and said it would soon shift processing of full industries to the CEEs (see 14030613).
