Kuehne + Nagel International appointed Dr. Detlef Trefzger as the company’s new CEO on Aug. 15. The company said that the decision came after a “comprehensive selection process involving external and internal candidates." Trefzger, who previously oversaw Contract and Integrated Logistics at the company, will assume his position “with immediate effect” and will continue to be responsible for Contract and Integrated Logistics "until further notice,” the company said.
The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed on Aug. 15 Arancha Gonzalez of Spain as Executive Director of the International Trade Center, a joint trade and international business development agency of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the World Trade Organization (WTO). The center aims to promote developing country exports, according to the WTO. Gonzalez, previously chief of staff at the WTO, will replace current Executive Director Patricia Francis of Jamaica on Sept. 1.
