Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted term, include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

Hirsh Named as New Chief International Trade Counsel for Senate Finance Committee

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) chose Bruce Hirsh as the new Chief International Trade Counsel, said Baucus a press release. Hirsh's "extensive knowledge of all aspects of the trade negotiation process will help me tackle several upcoming trade initiatives, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a possible U.S.-EU FTA and trade promotion authority to boost our exports and create jobs in Montana and across America,” said Baucus. Hirsh previously worked as an international trade lawyer within the committee, and replaces Amber Cottle, who was recently promoted to Finance Committee Staff Director.

Anderson Moves to Head Port of Tampa

The Tampa Port Authority hired Paul Anderson, ex-Federal Maritime Commission and ex-Port of Jacksonville, as the authority’s new port director and chief executive, succeeding Richard Wainio, who had held the position since March 2005.
