Judson Murdock was named as director of Field Operations in Houston for CBP, the agency said. Murdock worked as CBP Area Port Director in Dallas before taking the post in Houston.
The Border Trade Alliance is seeking a new president, the group said in a press release. Nelson Balido, the previous president, said in a brief interview his term recently ended and he decided to resign from the position. Balido will continue to work at his consulting firm Balido and Associates, he said.
Harold McGraw, President of the McGraw-Hill Companies, has been elected to Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, the group announced April 22. Current ICC Chairman Gerard Worms will become Honorary Chairman. Sunil Bharti Mittal will become Vice-Chairman effective July 1. Mittal is the founder and Group CEO of Bharti Enterprises, an Indian business group with interests in telecom, retail and other sectors.
UTi Worldwide named Josh Paulson, partner at P2 Capital Partners, as one of two new members of UTi's board of directors, the company said in a press release. The board recently decided to expanded the board from seven to nine members and another director is expected to be named this summer, it said. The company also named Pat Cooney as the new regional vice president for sales and marketing in the Asia-Pacific region (here).
Helen Sterling will start as the new area port director in Boston April 22, said CBP in a press release.
The American Trucking Associations hired Jeffrey Mason, previously with Randall-Reilly, as senior vice president of image and communications, said the ATA in a press release.
The International Air Transport Association named Warren Jones, previously the Aviation Development Manager at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, as head of Cargo Network Service, the association said in a press release. "Raising industry competitiveness, accelerating the transformation to e-commerce and the Cargo 2000 quality framework, and enhancing the security and safety of air cargo will all be major priorities," the press release stated.
Covington & Burling hired Gina Vetere, previously with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Global Intellectual Property Center, to work as special counsel in the firm's international trade practice. Vetere worked at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative before joining the Chamber.
