The Commerce Department is expanding its ongoing antidumping and countervailing duty administrative reviews on quartz surface products from China (A-570-084/C-570-085), and may review the eligibility of some Malaysian companies that are currently ineligible to certify their goods are exempt because they aren’t Chinese, it said in a notice released Feb. 23.

The Commerce Department has released the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on steel propane cylinders from Thailand (A-549-839). Commerce set an AD rate of 2.17% for Sahamitr Pressure Container Plc., the only company under review, representing a slight increase from the preliminary rate of 2.12% it calculated. Subject merchandise from Sahamitr entered Aug. 1, 2021, through July 31, 2022, will be liquidated at importer-specific rates, Commerce said. The 2.17% AD duty cash deposit rate for Sahamitr takes effect Feb. 23, when the final results are to be published in the Federal Register.
The Commerce Department released the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on certain cold-rolled steel flat products from South Korea (A-580-881). These final results will be used to set final assessments of AD duties on importers for subject merchandise entered Sept. 1, 2021, through Aug. 31, 2022.

Gtul seeks a Section 337 general exclusion order banning all imports of firearm disassembly tongs that it says infringe on its patents, the ITC said in a notice released Feb. 21. In a complaint filed with the ITC Feb. 15, Gtul said Anthony Drouget, Offroadcali, roadrunnercarparts, DRP-California, eurasiaparts, Brementech, Homelifegoods, MTCparts.com and Joybuy Marketplace are importing devices that engage the slide lock on firearms that copy patented technologies used in Gtul’s Stul devices. Gtul also seeks cease and desist orders against the nine companies named in its complaint. Comments are due to the ITC March 1.

The Commerce Department issued a notice in the Federal Register on its recently initiated countervailing duty investigations on paper plates from China and Vietnam (C-570-165, C-552-840), and is set to publish a notice in the coming days on its antidumping duty investigations on paper plates from China, Thailand and Vietnam (A-570-164, A-549-849, A-552-839). The CVD investigations on China and Vietnam and the AD investigation on Thailand cover entries for the calendar year 2023. The AD investigations on China and Vietnam cover entries made July 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2023.
