The Commerce Department has published the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on corrosion-resistant steel products from Taiwan (A-583-856). These final results will be used to set final assessments of AD duties on importers for subject merchandise entered July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.

The International Trade Commission is seeking public input on remedies for its Section 337 investigation on Asus' imported computing equipment (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1382), it said in a notice to be published May 7. The ITC initiated the investigation in 2023 based on allegations that imports of Asus electronic computing devices infringe patents held by Lenovo (see 2312190066). The ITC partially terminated the investigation with respect to several of the claims at Lenovo's request, and the administrative law judge issued a final determination of no Section 337 violation. The ITC determined to review in full the ALJ's determination and is requesting written submissions addressing remedy by “close of business” on May 15.

The Commerce Department said it's rescinding the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain cased pencils from China (A-570-827) for the period of review Dec. 1, 2023, through Nov. 30, 2024, because there were no reviewable, suspended entries of subject merchandise during the review period for the five companies that remained under review after 34 others were determined not eligible for review. The five companies are: Centraline Stationery & Gift Co. Limited; Ningbo Homey Union Co., Ltd.; Shandong Wah Yuen Stationery Co. Ltd.; Tianjin Tonghe Stationery Co. Ltd; and Wah Yuen Stationery Co. Ltd.

The Commerce Department is giving advance notice that in automatic five-year sunset reviews scheduled to begin in June it will consider revoking the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on calcium hypochlorite from China (A-570-008/C-570-009), collated steel staples from China (A-570-112/C-570-113) and lightweight thermal paper from China (A-570-920/C-570-921), as well as the antidumping duty order on electrolytic manganese dioxide from China (A-570-979). These orders will be revoked, or the investigation terminated, unless Commerce finds that revocation would lead to dumping and the International Trade Commission finds that revocation would result in injury to the U.S. industry, Commerce said.

The Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission began five-year sunset reviews of the antidumping duty and countervailing duty orders on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from China (A-570-012/C-570-013), ceramic tile from China (A-570-108/C-570-109) and quartz surface products from Turkey and India (A-489-837/C-489-838, A-533-889/C-533-890), as well as the antidumping duty order on silicon metal from Russia (A-821-817), Commerce said in a notice May 1.

The Commerce Department said it's rescinding the administrative review of the countervailing duty order on multilayered wood flooring from China (C-570-971) for the period of review Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2023, because there were no reviewable, suspended entries of subject merchandise during the review period for seven of the companies for which the review had been requested -- Dongtai Fuan Universal Dynamics, LLC; HaiLin LinJing Wooden Products Co., Ltd.; Hunchun Xingjia Wooden Flooring Inc.; Jiashan On-Line Lumber Co., Ltd.; Suzhou Dongda Wood Co., Ltd.; Zhejiang Longsen Lumbering Co., Ltd.; and Zhejiang Shiyou Timber Co., Ltd. As well, Commerce is rescinding the review for Riverside Plywood Corporation and its cross-owned affiliates Baroque Timber Industries (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., Suzhou Times Flooring Co., Ltd., and Zhongshan Lianjia Flooring Co., Ltd. because Riverside Plywood withdrew its request for a review.
