The Commerce Department has published the preliminary results of its antidumping and countervailing duty administrative reviews on corrosion inhibitors from China (A-570-122/C-570-123). In the final results of these reviews, Commerce will set AD assessment rates for subject merchandise for the companies under review entered March 1, 2022, through Feb. 28, 2023, and CVD assessment rates for entries Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022.
The Commerce Department has published the preliminary results of a countervailing duty administrative review of carbon and alloy steel threaded rod from China (C-570-105). This review covers subject merchandise from the exporters under review entered during the period Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022.

The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on allegations that imports of medical programmers with printed circuit boards from Axonics (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1396) infringe on patents held by Medtronic, the ITC said in a notice released April 2. In a complaint filed in early February (see 2403040060), Medtronic said Axonics is importing sacral neuromodulation systems that rely on its patented technology, including devices for use with Axonics’ F15 and R20 sacral neuromodulation systems. The surgically implanted systems are used to control symptoms of overactive bladder, non-obstructive urinary retention, and chronic fecal incontinence through neural stimulation. In the investigation, the ITC will consider whether to issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning imports from Axonics.

The Commerce Department has released the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on granular polytetrafluoroethylene resin (granular PTFE) from India (A-533-899). Rates calculated in this review will be used to set assessment rates for importers of subject merchandise from one producer and exporter that was entered during the period Sept. 2, 2021, through Feb. 28, 2023.
The Commerce Department has released the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on pentafluoroethane (R-125) from China (A-570-137). In the final results of this review, Commerce will set assessment rates for subject merchandise from the two company groups remaining under review entered Aug. 17, 2021, through Feb. 28, 2023.

The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on allegations that imports of fire extinguishing devices are infringing on Nano Fire and Defender Safety's patented aerosol fire extinguishing technology, the ITC said in a notice April 1. In a complaint filed Feb.22 (see 2402280081), Nano Fire, which licenses the technology to Defender Safety, said Halma and its affiliate Halma Holdings, as well as FirePro Systems and Hochiki America, are importing fire extinguishing devices that infringe on its patented fire extinguishing composition that needs no pressure storage. In the investigation, the ITC will consider whether to issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist order banning imports from Halma, FirePro and Hochiki America.
