The Commerce Department has published the preliminary results of a countervailing duty administrative review of multilayered wood flooring from China (C-570-971). This review covers subject merchandise from the exporters under review entered during the period Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022.
The Commerce Department has released the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on polyethylene retail carrier bags from Malaysia (A-557-813). Commerce calculated a zero percent AD rate for the only company under review, Euro SME Sdn. Bhd. and its affiliate Euro Nature Green Sdn. Bhd., unchanged from the preliminary results. Subject merchandise from Euro SME entered Aug. 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023, won't be assessed AD. The new zero percent AD cash deposit rate takes effect for Euro SME and its affiliate March 21, the date these final results are to be published in the Federal Register.

Suspension of liquidation for paper plates from China, Vietnam and Thailand will resume March 19, after the Commerce Department issued antidumping duty orders on paper plates from China (A-570-164), Thailand (A-549-849) and Vietnam (A-552-839), and countervailing duty orders on paper plates from China (C-570-165) and Vietnam (C-552-840).
A domestic producer recently filed a petition with the Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission requesting new antidumping and countervailing duties on plastic boxes imported from China and Vietnam. Commerce now will decide whether to begin AD/CVD investigations, which could result in the imposition of permanent AD/CVD orders and the assessment of AD and CVD on importers. CoolSeal USA Inc., Inteplast Group Corporation, SeaCa Plastic Packaging, and Technology Container Corporation requested the investigation.

Flatbed utility carts imported by Utility Transportation Carts aren’t subject to antidumping duties on hand trucks and parts from China, the Commerce Department said in a March 10 scope ruling. The carts lack the requisite horizontal edge or toe plate, it said.

The International Trade Commission has ended a Section 337 investigation on imports of hydrodermabrasion systems (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1416), it said in a notice to be published March 18. Complainant HydraFacial initially alleged in 2024 that Sinclair Pharma’s U.S. and U.K. branches, as well as Huadong Medicine, EMA Aesthetics, Aesthetics Management Partners, Advanced Aesthetics Services and H.R. Meditech, are infringing patents related to HydraFacial’s systems for skin treatment through mechanical or fluid-based abrasion or exfoliation (see 2409100036).
