The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty order on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from Korea (C-580-818). The CV rates for all three companies under review were preliminarily found to be de minimis1. These CV rates are not in effect. Commerce may modify them in the final results of this review and change the estimated CV cash deposit rate for these companies.

The agency found a zero AD rate for Hyundai HYSCO. If continued in the final results, entries from Hyundai HYSCO during the period of review will be liquidated without regard to AD duties, and its merchandise will not be subject to an AD cash deposit requirement until further notice. These preliminary results are not in effect. Commerce may modify them in the final results of this review and change the estimated AD cash deposit rates for these companies.
The Food and Drug Administration spelled out the rationale and expected processes for the proposed systems recognition assessment program, meant to help the FDA identify countries with effective food safety systems. FDA has been testing and developing a process for conducting systems recognition assessments, "working with New Zealand and the European Union (EU) on initial pilot projects and Canada on a second pilot project," it said. "FDA expects that systems recognition assessments will be a key tool for FDA to utilize in its preventive approach to food safety for imported foods," it said.

The agency found a zero AD rate for Maquilacero S.A. de C.V. If continued in the final results, entries from Maquilacero during the period of review will be liquidated without regard to AD duties, and its merchandise will not be subject to an AD cash deposit requirement until further notice. These preliminary results are not in effect. Commerce may modify them in the final results of this review and change the estimated AD cash deposit rate for these companies.
CBP is amending its regulations expanding and revising the geographical limits of the port of Indianapolis, Ind., said CBP in a notice on the final rule. The extension involves four municipalities within Marion County, as well as portions of the neighboring counties of Boone, Hendricks, and Johnson. CBP said the proposed change would not result in a change in the service provided to the public by the port nor a change in the staffing or workload at the port.. The final rule will be effective Oct. 7. The agency sought comment on the proposed changes last year (see 12042413).
