Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS) was updated Feb. 4. The corresponding downloadable rulings are now available.
The Department and Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP outlined the security measures used to protect information collected as part of the Export Information System (EIS) in a Jan. 31 assessment released Feb. 6. EIS includes information CBP collects from paper forms and documents, and through the Automated Export System and AESDirect. Information that is from paper forms and documents is maintained in files at CBP ports and at headquarters, the report said.
In the Feb. 5 issue of the CBP Customs Bulletin (Vol. 48, No. 5), CBP published a notice that proposed to revoke rulings and similar treatment for the tariff classification of child bicycle seats.
CBP issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of Feb. 3. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs, etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics, etc.
CBP posted a Feb. 4 version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) electronic query report of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP also posted a version of its CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) electronic query report of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.
The Jan. 29 issue of the CBP Customs Bulletin (Vol. 48, No. 4), CBP published a notice of revocation and modification of rulings and treatment regarding polyurethane coated gloves.
Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS) was updated Feb. 4 with 251 rulings, bringing the total number of searchable rulings to 180,562. The most recent ruling is dated 02/03/2014.

CBP performed 2,129 total Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) validations in 2013, falling slightly short of its plans to reach 2,200 validations in the year, the agency said in an update on C-TPAT program statistics. The 2013 total included 576 initial validations and 1,553 revalidations, it said. While validations for 2013 started out slowly, the agency maintained it planed to reach 2,200 validations for the year (see 13060627). CBP did a total of 2,376 validations, including 640 initial validations and 1,736 revalidations, in 2012. The agency has done 33 validations this year as of Feb. 3, the update said.
