The International Trade Administration issued the final results of the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on citric acid and certain citrate salts from Canada (A-122-853), which sets an AD cash deposit rate for one manufacturer/exporter. This rate, which is effective April 24, 2012, is expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.
The International Trade Commission determined that a U.S. industry is not materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of galvanized steel wire from China that the International Trade Administration has determined are subsidized and imports from China and Mexico that the ITA has determined are sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

The Court of International Trade dismissed another action brought by a domestic producer challenging the distribution of funds under the Continued Dumping and Subsidy Offset Act of 2000 (CDSOA) (aka the Byrd Amendment) with regard to the antidumping duty orders on certain polyester staple fiber from Korea (A-580-839) and Taiwan (A-583-833).
The Food and Drug Administration published a report titled “Global Engagement” to outline the actions that it is taking to respond the challenges it faces with regard to the rapid increase in imports of FDA-regulated food and drug products and medical devices over the past decade. Highlights of the report include updates on pilot programs for rapid inspection of products in foreign countries, collaboration with foreign food and drug safety agencies on inspection, etc.
