ITC Launches Section 337 Investigation on Vaping Devices
The International Trade Commission began a Section 337 investigation on allegations that NJOY and Altria Group, and their subsidiaries, are importing and selling vaporizer devices that infringe patents held by Juul Labs, Inc. (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1460), it said in a Sept. 9 press release.

The complaint was filed in August and seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents to bar from entry "certain vaporizer devices, cartridges used therewith, and components thereof" that violate the complainants' patents (see 2508130010).
This is Juul's fifth Section 337 complaint in the past seven years to "stop the unlawful importation of vaporizer devices and components thereof," according to the complaint.
