AIAG to Compel OEM Suppliers to Report Forced Labor Exposure

The Automotive Industry Action Group is alerting members that original equipment manufacturer suppliers will need to provide additional information on their supply chains' exposure to forced labor. This disclosure will occur in phases, starting in September for selected suppliers, with plans to expand that list of suppliers by mid-2026.

The additional information will be reported through a Due Diligence Reporting Template (DDRT) that AIAG says will facilitate a supply chain risk forced labor information exchange between OEMs and their tiered supply chain partners. Suppliers will submit the DDRT annually, according to an Aug. 19 announcement, and this information will help the industry meet "evolving regulatory obligations and support industry-wide alignment."

Suppliers also will have access to training and other resources, as well as to risk screening tools from Kharon, Altana, Resilinc and Supplierassurance at industry-negotiated rates, AIAG said.

"Forced labor due diligence regulations around the world require companies to proactively identify, address, and report on forced labor risks throughout their supply chains. Enforcement actions, such as shipment detentions by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, underscore the urgency for robust, standardized due diligence processes," AIAG said.

AIAG tweaked its DDRT earlier this year (see 2505130064) to include supplier input on the form.
