Michigan Dem Proposes Extending 100% Tariffs to Chinese Firms' Cars
Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., introduced a bill last week that would grant the U.S. trade representative the authority to extend existing 100% tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles to autos produced by Chinese firms, no matter where they were assembled.

Stevens said in a news release announcing the bill: "For too long, the [Chinese Communist Party] has been rigging the market, undermining Michigan’s auto industry, and cheating the system. Now, they’re trying to cheat the system again by moving production to countries like Mexico to dodge tariffs and undercut American automakers. Not anymore."
