FDRA Asks Trump Not to Add 20% Vietnam Tariff to MFN

The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America publicized a letter they sent to the administration, pointing out that children's shoes already face high most favored nation duties, and asked officials not to stack a planned 20% tariff on those rates.

"Kids' shoes are not the type of footwear made in the U.S., like high-end leather shoes or military boots. As we highlighted in a May 29th letter to President [Donald] Trump, joined by several trade associations, we strongly support the President’s comments indicating that his tariff policy is not focused on driving sneaker and T-shirt production to the U.S.," the group wrote.
