  • CBP officers in Louisville, Kentucky, seized five shipments containing a total of almost 2,200 pieces of counterfeit jewelry on June 19 and June 20. Had these goods been genuine, the five shipments would have had a combined manufacturer’s suggested retail price of over $25.32 million, according to a June 23 release. The first shipment, arriving from China and headed for a residence in Pennsylvania, consisted of 318 bracelets bearing unauthorized versions of Cartier trademarks. Later that day, on June 19, CBP seized another shipment, arriving from Hong Kong and headed to a residence in Tampa, Florida, which contained more inauthentic jewelry, specifically 490 necklaces, 205 pairs of earrings, and 80 rings, bearing unauthorized trademarks owned by Van Cleef and Arpels. On June 20, CBP officers seized three shipments containing a total of 800 inauthentic Cartier bracelets. All the June 20 shipments came from China; two were headed to a residence in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and the third, to Michigan (here).
