"For years, classification has been a slow, error-prone, and costly bottleneck in compliance. This result proves that our platform can deliver expert-level accuracy at scale, helping companies move faster, stay compliant, and reduce risk in an increasingly volatile trade environment," Gaia Dynamics CEO Emil Stefanutti said in the release.

The company said it used the tool's AI classification engine to answer the 15 product classification questions from Section IV of the exam as part of its test simulation. It did so after CBP publicly released the full exam and answer key.

Within eight seconds, the engine provided not only a Harmonized System code but also step-by-step legal reasoning, Customs Ruling Online Search Systems citations and alternative possible classifications to be used under specific circumstances, Gaia Dynamics said.
