House GOP Panel Renews Push for Iran Sanctions Bills
Two leaders of the House Republican Study Committee urged Congress June 16 to advance sanctions legislation aimed at stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons and supporting terrorism.

In a statement, Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, who chairs the full committee, and Rep. Zach Nunn, R-Iowa, who chairs the committee’s national security task force, cited “Iran’s ongoing attacks on our ally Israel, combined with its relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons." The sanctions would "reinforce the President’s Maximum Pressure policy and sever all financial pathways to nuclear weapons development and terrorist financing," they said.
The committee unveiled a package of Iran sanctions bills in April, including two introduced by Pfluger and one offered by Nunn (see 2504030016).
