Cybersecurity Advisory Highlights Threat to Logistics Companies From Russian Hacking
A joint Cybersecurity Advisory highlighted the threat of targeted Russian hacking of Western logistics companies involved in aid shipments to Ukraine, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency announced on May 21.

The report, which was authored by the CISA, NSA, the FBI and other U.S. and international partners, said the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) had orchestrated an espionage campaign against Western logistics companies "involved in the coordination, transport, and delivery of foreign assistance to Ukraine."
The GRU unit responsible, commonly known as "Fancy Bear," uses a mix of spearphishing, targeted attacks that attempt to trick an individual into downloading malware, and software vulnerability exploitation.
The advisory said that executives and information security officials should recognize the "elevated threat" environment and that the authoring intelligence agencies "expect similar targeting and TTP [tactics, techniques and procedures] use to continue."
