DOE Delays Effective Date of Amendments to Test Procedures for Central ACs, Heat Pumps

The Department of Energy is once again delaying the effective date of a recently published final rule amending the test procedures for central air conditioners and heat pumps, it said in a Federal Register notice. The effective date is now July 7.

The amendments previously had effective dates of Feb. 5 and March 20 (see 2503190016).

The agency noted that it has received comments from the industry both in support of and against the delays.
