  • CBP has deployed enhancements to the ACE Reports application that enable data to refresh within hours, rather than overnight for most universes (here).
  • CBP said April 16 officials intercepted $8.9 million in alleged methamphetamine concealed within a shipment manifested as chayote at the Pharr International Bridge in Texas. Chayote, also known as vegetable pear, is a green, pear-shaped squash native to Mexico. A tractor trailer arriving from Mexico was directed to undergo further inspection, and CBP officers discovered 3,770 packages, weighing 1,002 pounds, of alleged methamphetamine (here).
  • CBP officers with the Office of Field Operations intercepted 339 pounds of cocaine near the Ambassador Bridge port of entry in Michigan. A Canada-bound commercial vehicle was selected for examination and a subsequent physical inspection conducted by officers revealed bricks of a white powdery substance concealed within two duffel bags and four moving boxes, CBP said. The illicit cargo was confirmed to be cocaine through subsequent testing (here).
  • At an air cargo facility in Chicago, CBP officers assigned to the Anti-Terrorism Contraband Enforcement Team seized three shipments of the sedative Xylazine on April 12. All the shipments were arriving from China and were headed to three different residences, one in Cleveland, Ohio, and two in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, CBP said. Xylazine is a sedative for large animals, but also has been found to be mixed with opioids like fentanyl and heroin (here).
  • At the Pharr International Bridge in Texas, CBP officers with the Office of Field Operations intercepted alleged methamphetamine worth an estimated $14.62 million concealed within a shipment manifested as fresh bell peppers and cucumbers. A tractor trailer arriving from Mexico was found to be carrying 300 packages of alleged methamphetamine weighing 1,635.56 pounds (here).
