Commerce Ends Supply Chain Competitiveness Advisory Committee
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has terminated the agency’s Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness along with 13 other advisory committees, the Commerce Department said on its website. Lutnick “determined that the purposes for which fourteen of the discretionary advisory committees were established have been fulfilled, and the committees have been terminated” effective Feb. 28.

The supply chain competitiveness committee has been used by previous administrations to speak with industry about issues related to port congestion (see 2302150057), Federal Maritime Commission initiatives (see 2302150050), and other export and import topics (see 2210130050 and 2106240061).
Other terminated committees include the International Trade Administration's Civil Nuclear Trade Advisory Committee, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, the United States Investment Advisory Council and the United States Manufacturing Council. The Bureau of Industry and Security's seven export control-focused technical advisory committees appear to have been left untouched.
