BIS Reviewing Comments on ANPR for Drones, Official Says

The Bureau of Industry and Security is reviewing the public comments it received in response to its advance notice of proposed rulemaking on drones, a Commerce Department official said March 18 at the BIS annual update conference.

The notice, published in early January, sought input on how BIS regulations on Chinese-made drones, or Chinese parts in drones made elsewhere, should be focused to mitigate the risk of Chinese sabotage or espionage (see 2501020037). Comments were due March 4.
