State Dept. Approves Military Sales to Israel

The State Department approved three possible military sales to Israel, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said last week.

One sale includes a $2.04 billion worth of munitions and munitions support; the prime contractors will be General Dynamics, Ellwood National Forge Co., and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, with a portion of the procurement potentially coming from U.S. stock.

Another sale includes $675.7 million of more munitions, guidance kits, munitions support and related equipment, with principal contractors Repkon USA and Boeing.

Israel also could get $295 million worth of Caterpillar D9 bulldozers and related equipment; the principal contractor will be Caterpillar.
