Senate Appropriations Committee Names Subcommittee Leaders

The Senate Appropriations Committee announced Jan. 29 that it has appointed Sens. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., and Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., as chair and ranking member, respectively, of the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Subcommittee in the new 119th Congress.

Sens. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., and Jack Reed, D-R.I., will be chair and ranking member of the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee, whose jurisdiction includes the Treasury Department, and Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, will hold those roles on the State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Subcommittee.

At the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Subcommittee, whose jurisdiction includes the Federal Maritime Commission, Sens. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., will be chair and ranking member.
