FinCEN Vows to Continue Legal Fight Over BOI Reporting Rules

The U.S. government stressed that it plans to continue an ongoing legal battle to enforce the beneficial ownership information reporting requirements in the Corporate Transparency Act, which a federal court paused last month under a nationwide injunction (see 2412270046 and 2412300031)

“The government continues to believe” that the law “is constitutional,” the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network said in a Jan. 2 update on its website. FinCEN added that it “will continue defending the law as necessary.”
