ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Molding Products
The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on certain injection molding machines, and products containing the same (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1425) after receiving allegations filed by Husky Injection Molding Systems that Ningbo AO Sheng Mold Co. is importing products that infringe its patents, the agency said in a Dec. 12 news release.

In a complaint filed in November (see 2411180053), Husky said Ningbo AO Sheng is importing "certain mold products, cavity insert products, and molding apparatus products for injection molding machines and products containing these components" that infringe its patented machinery. The ITC will consider a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against Ningbo AO Sheng. The machines are used to manufacture preforms, beverage bottles, beverage closures and "many other products," according to Husky.
