  • Electronic Export Manifest (EEM) Appendix J -- Response Code -- Ocean Severity Update -- Informational to Fatal: EEM implemented three validations to promote accurate formatting in the EEM party details and Destination Country. The validations were made available in CERTIFICATION environment Oct. 8. They were made available in PRODUCTION environment n Oct. 22, and initially set to INFORMATIONAL. Starting Dec. 11, the validations will be set to FATAL in PRODUCTION (here)
  • CORRECTION: error 777- ADDTNL DEC TYPE NOT YET EFF OR EXPIRED on Importer Additional Declaration Type 08: CBP is aware that summaries transmitting the Country Detail Records for Steel Melt and Pour (54-Record, Type 08) are triggering error 777- ADDTNL DEC TYPE NOT YET EFF OR EXPIRED. The issue was investigated and resolved on Nov. 21 at 17:39 ET. This message corrects that time, and filers should resubmit entry summaries that failed as the result of this problem before the fix at that time (here)
  • FDA Reminder about the Compliance Date for the FSMA Laboratory Accreditation for Analyses of Foods Program: Owners and consignees of certain imported foods will be required to use accredited laboratories under the LAAF program when conducting mycotoxins analyses, beginning Dec. 1 (here)
  • ACE Portal Modernization: CBP Set to Retire Two Additional Legacy ACE Portal Account Views on Dec. 21: broker and carrier (here)
  • USDA APHIS Lacey Act and Phase VII Implementation AL1 Tariff Flag Update: On Dec. 1, APHIS will begin implementing Phase VII of the Lacey Act provisions for certain imported plant and wood products. This means that the AL1 tariff flag will be added to approximately 450 Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes (here).
