State Dept. Publishes 2023 Magnitsky Sanctions Annual Report
The State Department this week released its 2023 Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act Annual Report, detailing actions it took to impose Magnitsky sanctions last year, including 78 foreign person designations. The report lists each of the designations, including why they were designated.

The agency also said the Biden administration carried out a "successful outreach campaign" last year to convince allies to impose similar sanctions. It said it's "closely following the potential development of an EU anticorruption sanctions authority and stands ready to support EU efforts by sharing insights and offering technical support, including regarding evidence collection, addressing legal challenges, and evidentiary requirements."
